Sadly, the only really good, affordable robotic AI platform for
educational use was the Cozmo robot, but you can't get them any longer.
The manufacturer, Anki, went bankrupt in 2019, and Digital Dream Labs,
which purchased the rights to the robot, has delivered nothing but
broken promises since then.

But there is some good news: Innovation First, the company behind VEX
robots, is developing a fully-assembled Cozmo-class robot with built-in
AI, including real computer vision.  It hasn't been publicly announced
yet, but it will be soon.  I've seen the prototype.  I think this robot
is worth waiting for.
