   Dear all,

The AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowships (STPF)
will be hosting a virtual symposium on the human impacts of AI
   [https://sites.google.com/view/humanimpactsofai/home] on June 11^th,
2020. The event will bring together an amazing line-up of speakers,
to discuss how AI affects the different aspects of our daily lives,
including health, workforce development, the criminal justice system,
   food production, and policy development.

Living with AI: The Human Impacts of AI
   June 11, 2020, 9:00-4:30 (EDT)

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing how we think about
every aspect of our daily lives, impacting our food, health, work, and
society. Public discourse often focuses on AI as a social good that
will increase efficiency and improve outcomes for all, without
examining how racial, ethnic, and gender biases can be encoded into the
underlying algorithms. Building on the recommendations of the National
AI R&D Strategic Plan, this symposium will provide a nuanced
perspective on the human impacts of AI and how to ensure that AI
technologies are safe and fair in their development and application,
which will inform policymakers, academics, and industry leaders as they
   seek to implement these technologies.

Keynote Address by Dr. Ruha Benjamin, Associate Professor, Princeton
   University

2020 Vision: Reimagining the Default Settings of Technology & Society

Interactive following Panels will cover AI and health, hiring and
workforce development, the criminal justice system, food production,
and the role of governments and industry in policy development.
