While teaching AI in schools is our primary focus, a lot can also be
done in informal learning environments such as museums. There's an AI
event this Sunday, February 9, at the American Museum of Natural History
in New York City. Here's a link:

How did this come about? AAAI is holding their annual conference next
week in New York, and in connection with that, we organized a Student
Outreach Workshop for undergraduates with an interest in AI. On
Saturday in a workshop at Hunter College, participants will use the
Calypso software framework and the Cozmo robot to construct games or
interactive demonstrations on the theme of "how AI can improve our
lives". The next day, Sunday the 9th, they will bring their creations
to the museum for a free public exhibition between noon and 5pm.

The workshop is sponsored by AAAI, ReadyAI LLC, and Hunter College.

PS: for those lamenting the demise of Cozmo: cheer up! He's coming
back. Last week I met with the CEO of Digital Dream Labs, the company
that acquired the rights to all of Anki's products. Cozmo really is
coming back.
