The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development is an
intergovernmental economic organisation with 36 member countries,
founded in 1961 to stimulate economic progress and world trade (from
Wikipedia). The US is a member, as is most of Europe. Notably missing
from the list are China and Russia.
In May 2019 the OECD released a set of "AI principles" that governments
should adhere to, and recommendations for how to support these
principles:

Subsequently, in June 2019 the OECD released a report called "Artificial
Intelligence in Society" that addresses the economic and social impacts
resulting from the continued development and deployment of AI
technologies.

Both of these are good resources for high school students interested in
digging deeper into our Big Idea #5 (Societal Impact).
