I have a student interested in training a classification AI (practicing with various algorithms - KNN, logistical regression, and naive Bayes) predicting roles in a game called Town of Salem. He’s in desperate need of more data, and I wanted to
reach out to see if any of you might be able to help - either with playing the game, or by asking other folks who might play!
His email is below. Thanks so much!
Hi there.
For my Capstone project, I am working on an artificial intelligence that is able to accurately predict the roles of players in a Mafia-style social deduction game. The game itself is called Town of
Salem, and is available for $5 on Steam.
Sending the data can be at bit complicated, but I'll do my best to explain it here.
On macOS:
- First click on your desktop, anywhere works, as long as there's no icon.
- Second, hold the Command key, the shift key, and the letter G all at the same time, and a dialogue will appear, you can let go of the keys now.
- Inside the text box, copy and paste: ~/Library/Logs/BlankMediaGames/Town of Salem/
- A Finder window will appear, inside it you will see the "Player.log" file.
- Drag and drop the file into an email and it will add it as an attachment, you can then send me this data.
On Windows:
- Hold the control key and the R key, a dialogue box will appear.
- Inside, copy and paste: %AppData%
- Hit enter. An Explorer window will appear.
- Inside, along the top there will be a button that says AppData, click on that. Then, click on LocalLow, then BlankMediaGames, then Town of Salem.
- Inside, you will see Player.log.
- Drag and drop the file into an email and it will add it as an attachment, you can then send me this data.
If this isn't entirely clear enough, I would be happy to assist, if you see me around campus you can just ask me and I'll try to help.
Many thanks,
Will
